ABSTRACT

In defining the new learning landscape, we have aimed to bring together all that is significant in our world of learning in a time of accelerated change. An examination of our psychic and social health is discussed, as is what it will mean to be a posthuman intelligent being – a human, android, cyborg machine. What will this future require of us now in the training and curriculum for the future? Ours is a time of transition in which we must be careful to prepare for change, to prepare for adapting to the future, and to avoid the seductiveness of technology hindering the development of our individual and collective abilities. For many, change is difficult to accommodate, and we must take this into account as the realisation of the future accelerates. In this chapter we offer a survival kit for the 21st century.

Exploring the future of intelligence, relationships, environmental issues, and how and why we educate has never been more important. In common with all the sections in the book is the provision of enrichment material and ideas, link pathways, and further reading/viewing suggestions.
