ABSTRACT

Children with a developmental visuospatial disorder may present difficulties in processing visuospatial stimuli along with a constellation of other symptoms overlapping with other neurodevelopmental disorders. This often make it difficult to differentiate among the disorders, posing challenges for the differential diagnosis. In this chapter, we will describe and compare the clinical profiles of children with developmental visuospatial disorder and the other clinical profiles. Similarities and differences across these clinical profiles will be highlighted in order to better clarify the specific characteristics of each disorder. Reaching a good knowledge of each clinical profile is important for defining the crucial issues to guide the provision of proper targeted educational intervention. Last, in order to underline and better illustrate the complexity of developmental disorders, the case of Christine will be presented.
