ABSTRACT
The discussion of secularization in Chapter 1 gave some indication of why it is that religious pluralism undermines the plausibility of religious belief, or, to rephrase it, why religious toleration becomes religious indifference. This brief section will consider the corrosive effects of pluralism in more analytical detail before going on to consider the viability of the liberal Protestant response.
