ABSTRACT

This chapter is based on the author’s first-hand discussion with proponents of Greater Nepal in Kathmandu, members of the intelligentsia and responsible political operatives in the national public domain of the country. On the basis of that, one may record that the prospect of Greater Nepal is dim to say the least, as its proponents are political riff-raff, the issues they have decided to pioneer are not on the national agenda of any significant forum, the intelligentsia believe that the idea is not in the national interest, and public leaders unanimously see in the idea of Greater Nepal seeds of unavoidable collusion with a friendly country, the Indian Union.
