ABSTRACT
This chapter presents an essay containing detailed profiles of central characters within a group of between thirty and forty young men. The essay tries to convey that even amongst young people from dramatically similar backgrounds and experiences, very different individuals emerged. The chapter traces the life courses of the young men in their teens for a period of five golden years.
