ABSTRACT

This chapter updates some of the many findings and advances in neuropsychological assessment in the last 2 decades and relates them to civil-forensic assessment. A comprehensive neuropsychological assessment always includes a deception analysis within an analysis of the key dimensions—intelligence, attention and concentration, memory, speech and language, sensory-perception, executive skills, and socio-emotional functioning. Reliable and valid neuropsychological tests and batteries with built-in analysis of deception have proven their worth in forensic matters and meet both Frye and Daubert standards.
