ABSTRACT
For the seller of a second-hand ship, a key concern will be to ensure that in exchange for transferring title and physical possession of the ship to the buyer, it will receive the full purchase price and all other sums due to be paid to it at delivery. Conversely, the buyer will wish to ensure that it remains in control of the purchase monies until it receives title and physical possession of the ship.
