Communication between the Flood hero and the people of Šuruppak

Ea’s instructions to the Flood hero were to pass the message on to his people. Given the message’s ambivalence, it is of some importance for understanding and interpreting the narrative exactly what the Flood hero said to whom. Strikingly, however, the story gives us no indications beyond implying that the people of Šuruppak were delighted with what they heard.
