ABSTRACT

The translation researchers have different views on the role of objects in the translation process. Actor-network researchers perceive nonhumans as actors who ‘act’ and play equally important role as humans in the construction of performative actor-networks and thus the materialization of phenomena in the world. Researchers in organizational translation studies focus upon the movement of tokens. Researchers in organizational translation studies emphasize that language and communication are important to create a bridge, connection between people in groups A and B when tokens are translated. In organizational translation studies, the translator plays a key role in the movement of ideas. The measure of the outcome of the translation process and the way to decide whether a token has been translated do vary in organizational translation studies. The comparative analysis of theories, models in organizational translation studies identified a number of focus points and themes that translation studies researchers in organizational studies share and 'look into' in the research.
