ABSTRACT

Here we introduce you to Gundoo early learning centre and its local community as a site to understand young children’s community building. We share how the community came to be, what matters there and what is valued. Then Louise, Kerryn and Bena story evidence of young Aboriginal children’s community building in action, co-interpreted through conversational writing. Diverse stories are shared, interwoven with cultural readings, theory and literature. Through diffractive storying we come to see embodiment, emplacement and relationality as key themes of young children’s citizenship in action in Gundoo community.
