Thackray who has recently published a biography o f John Dalton, was elected a Corresponding Member. In acknowledging his Certificate o f Election, D r Thackray pointed out that a connection with Philadelphia and the University o f Pennsylvania is not without its historical precedent for the Society. His Highness also showed considerable interest in the exhibition o f Daltonalia which had been mounted in the library.
