ABSTRACT

In the concluding part, we discuss whether and how the change toward communication society is connected with a move in the social figurative process called “modernity,” which ranges from early modern industrial society to late modern post-industrial society. To this end, we look first at both the concepts of modernity and late or post-modernity, and their concepts of time. After explaining the differences between figuration and refiguration, we will finally formulate some theses on the refigured modernity, which explains what this book wants to achieve primarily, namely, to reformulate social theory and the theory of society.
