ABSTRACT

School stakeholders include staff, students, school boards, parents, families, and community organizations. Stakeholders can be viewed as partners with the school. Their interests or concerns will vary, but the central focus is on the students. Regardless of how much or how little the parent is involved, it’s important to offer ways for them to be involved and for them to be able to contact the school counselor. Getting parents involved can really help promote school counseling program. Epstein’s Model for Parental Involvement is widely used in the educational community. It is a model that school counselors can use as well. There are many community partners to provide support and resources to students. Social workers are one of the community partners that school counselors can work closely with. School psychologists are another partner that is part of the mental health community.
