ABSTRACT

This chapter examines relationships between people and that which they cannot control at will and for which they often do not have words. It describes about people and their relationship to their environment. All over the world, since time immemorial, people have been trying to influence the course of events by harnessing or tapping into the powers of the extraordinary, the cosmos, the divine. Magic is often reserved for special people: magicians, shamans, priests, auditors, coaches, consultants and motivational speakers. When power, magic, rituals and religion are connected, gurus and charismatic leaders emerge. Organizations can have religious dimensions, which manifest in various ways. One of the challenges organizations face is how to maintain the existing rhythm of a group, while accepting new rhythms into the mix in the name of diversity and inclusion. The chapter explains about the state of a culture and the behaviour of members within an organization by studying the physical space they occupy.
