ABSTRACT
Traces the efforts of Brethren to found various preparatory schools from Maryland to Alabama, and shows how those efforts culminated in the establishment of Bridgewater College. Discusses attempts at providing secondary education beginning in 1958 at Cedar Grove Academy in Broadway, Virginia and ending with the closing of Daleville Academy in Daleville, Virginia in 1933.
