ABSTRACT
The essential principles for teaching L2 academic writing are based on a large body of research, and the summative overview presents a great deal of work on learning to write L2 academic prose. Teaching techniques and approaches to teaching L2 writing focus primarily on vocabulary, grammar, and the rhetorical characteristics of academic text.
