ABSTRACT
In Herbert Marcuse one encounters what was lacking in other members of the Frankfurt School: a vision of the most radical goals of socialism and a willingness to link critical theory with radical struggle. This chapter furnishes a comprehensive overview of Marcuse’s oeuvre, stressing the activist, intercultural, and ecological dimensions of his life’s work.
