ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the theoretical grounding of wellness, spiritual health, and life satisfaction related to the Chinese immigrant and Southeast Asian youth's attitudes towards school engagement. There is an increased awareness of cultivating inner strengths, optimism, and hope in response to the youth's multiple life stressors. The role of spirituality deserves further attention because it connects people, the external environment, and the transcendental being. It is an essential ingredient for promoting productive mindsets and global well-being. Furthermore, spiritual health and life satisfaction are the catalysts for helping students be productive and flourishing if they are well connected with friends, teachers, parents, and other social networks.
