ABSTRACT

The French information technology group Bull operates in some 85 countries. The holding company is divided into three regional divisions: France and Europe, Asia and Africa, and North and South America. In addition to mainframe computers, multimedia PCs, small network computers and on-line services the Bull group also offers information system projects, outsourcing services, and system maintenance. The main growth area for the Bull group is in the service field, with the manufacture of GG equipment steadily losing in importance. The committee meets twice a year in France for a two-day plenary session. One day of the plenary is dedicated to the meeting with group management, and one day set aside for an internal European Works Council representative meeting. The meeting with group management is prepared by a secretariat elected by employee representatives: this consists of a secretary, their deputy and representatives from five other countries.
