ABSTRACT
In the last decade or so, healthcare systems have proactively acquired physician practices in order to capture and better control market share as well as to better coordinate total care between Acute and Ambulatory Care. Many clinics owned by physicians have sold a private practice or group practice to healthcare systems. In other cases, healthcare systems have formed completely new clinics and practices by hiring in providers.
