ABSTRACT
How an organization functions should be in direct alignment with the purpose of that organization. Each clinic should have a purpose why that clinic exists. Of course, clinics exist to supply patient care services to patients, but there can be more refined purpose. A clinic may exist to attract young families into the healthcare system. A clinic may provide convenience care in a specific geographic area in order to increase patient access to basic health care needs for that specific geographic area. A clinic may exist to provide comprehensive care services to patients at or below poverty level for a few specific neighborhoods. A multi-specialty clinic may exist to manage care of high risk elderly patients with various chronic conditions in order to reduce admissions or readmissions to hospitals.
