ABSTRACT

The project manager must define the needs at the beginning, evaluate the associated costs, and obtain approval from the steering group for the development of the necessary facilities. The role of the Scrum master can be quite different from one organisation to another, and there are some similarities between the Scrum master role and the traditional role of a project manager, although the project manager typically takes responsibility for the outcome of the project as a whole. The project manager needs to ensure that all important stakeholders are engaged with the project in a productive manner, for example, by the provision of information to a steering group or a sponsor who needs to know about the current situation, including progress relative to stated objectives, dangers, and opportunities. A project team carries out the professional work in the project, led by the project manager. Project management should comply with and utilise top professional project management standards.
