ABSTRACT

The media server outputs are defined by the signal raters. The signal raters are templates outlining the distribution of scenic screens on each of the signal paths generated by the media servers. If a signal needs to be resized for processing, this can occur downstream of the media server gear. If money is being spent on a significant amount of additional screen gear, that should include any engineering requirements of sending a signal to that gear from the media servers. When finalizing the signal raters, work with the screens engineer responsible for receiving and processing the signals that will ultimately be delivered to screen. The media server engineer will need to review and confirm that the playback system gear will cover the signal count and supporting server infrastructure. The broadcast truck may have the cameras in sync, but incorrectly sending a different sync signal to the media server racks.
