ABSTRACT

This chapter includes a discussion on the religious demographics of Generation Z in comparison to other generations and the implications for religion today. The chapter begins with an overview of various religions, including their rates of identification as well as a future outlook on participation by those in Generation Z. Attention is also paid to examining interfaith households and the growing number who identify as unaffiliated. The chapter ends with a discussion on Generation Z’s perspectives on the importance of religion, the relationship between religion and positivity, as well as the future of organized religion.
