ABSTRACT

This chapter offers an overview of the various political ideologies of Generation Z. In addition, this chapter focuses on Generation Z’s voter turnout and the candidate of choice from the 2016 election, highlighting comparative trends of other generational voting patterns. The chapter culminates with a discussion of the reasons that may explain Generation Z’s low voter registration and turnout, including ideas for voter-pre-registration, lowering the voting age, and having candidates highlight youth issues more prominently.
