ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of Generation Z, offering insight on their characteristics, with special attention to both their self-identified attributes along with their prominent character strengths. In addition, this chapter covers the diversity of Generation Z as a cohort and the need for many to manage multiple identities, on- and offline. Specific attention is given to better understanding a “curated identity” in which those in Generation Z manage their own brand and digital reputation. Information specific to their values and motivations is also discussed to lay the foundation for better understanding the perspectives and behaviors of this generation.
