ABSTRACT
In this final chapter of the book, we offer an extended conclusion, drawing out the themes and insights from the book’s analysis. The chapter discusses the development and interplay of enterprise policy interventions and considers the development, or otherwise, of enterprise policy over time utilising an historical institutionalist approach focused on interests, ideas and institutions. We analyse the core failings of enterprise policy and their possible causes. Finally, we present a set of suggestions for how enterprise policy might be advanced.
