ABSTRACT

This chapter presents some rehearsal and performance procedures, forms, and practices that will help when running of the lighting for any production. A form used by the board operator running a preset control console. It contains the primary operating instructions for every lighting cue in the production. When working with a preset light board, the board operator’s cue sheet, also known as the electrician’s cue sheet, is the board operator’s bible. The layout and content of the preset sheet is dependent on the type of preset control system used for the production. Preset sheets are used in conjunction with the board operator’s cue sheets. During rehearsals, a designer may need to skip a particular sequence of cues but may not want to delete them quite yet, perhaps because that part of the show is still under development. The original “from-the-manufacturer” setting of some aspect of a software or hardware program. Generally the user can modify default settings.
