ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an integrated model of co-production. It merges the literature from the public administration and service management perspectives and argues that such an integration of the theory supports the reformulation of the concept of co-production, which is subsequently differentiated into three distinct modes—co-construction, participative co-production and co-design. The chapter discusses each of these modes in detail, referring to their key dimensions and rationale, before examining the limitations of the model.
