ABSTRACT

I was very fortunate to be born to a great family in London. We live in a very lively area, buzzing with young people coming to have fun almost every evening of the week. I guess people enjoy it because of its historical buildings and the Common that gives it a kind of homely and relaxed feel. The Common is known as a free-spirited huge meadow where anyone can do anything (and I have done so much there …). People living here are both affluent and multicultural. Loads of students and young people also live here, a university halls of residence used to be situated here. It is becoming very gentrified, attracting people from all over the world. The area where I live is quiet, and is becoming very affluent now. Back in history there were people who came from here who actively campaigned for the abolition of slavery and for other reforms such as ones about child labour and prison. They also set up charities in the British colonies. This kind of social activist mind-set is close to my family’s culture and I like to consider myself as a generous and open-minded individual. This attitude towards life has taken me to many dazzling and insane places and has taught me many lessons.
