ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 aims to explore the linkage between industry structure and CO 2 emission from the literature. It shows that the switch from a heavy carbon-intensive sector to a lower carbon-intensity sector will lead to fewer emissions and keep the economy output unchanged. However, these empirical studies vary greatly in terms of research method, scope, data source and results.
