ABSTRACT

This concluding chapter highlights the ability of the integrated approach in offering an evidence-based account of whether, and to what extent, English plays a role in the process of identity constructions and their connection to the local politics of English. Not only is it analytically powerful and productive in capturing the varying degrees of the contribution to the English language and its various roles, but also in unraveling the ideological dimensions of identity and the English language. Additionally, the chapter reflects on some insights gained from the empirical study and the findings, points out the limitations and after that, outlines where we should go from here.
