ABSTRACT

The concluding chapter repeats the most salient points raised in a conceptual discussion attentive to issues of time and temporality. Thereafter, the chapter revisits some of the central concepts and notions in the book: search-ification and mundane-ification of search; searching for content versus searching in practice; infrastructural breakdown and frictions of relevance; infrastructural meaning-making; and the limits of critical evaluation of information. Finally, the chapter emphasises the continuing role of information science in the academic exploration of web search engines and their role in everyday life.
