As you reach the conclusion of our book, we hope your level of special education legal literacy has increased compared to when you started reading. The law is constantly subject to changes and ongoing modifications and the laws impacting students with disabilities are no different. So, this book fully recognizes that individuals who work closely with students with disabilities must not only address their present levels of special education legal literacy, but also develop realistic and workable strategies to accurately and confidently keep up to date with ongoing legal developments in special education. Thus, it is necessary for all of us to recognize the value of maintaining our special education legal literacy by monitoring updates or more significant changes to the legal principles, policies, and practices impacting students with disabilities. Given ongoing advancements in technology, especially the availability of open-access online resources, anyone with reliable Internet access can locate valuable special education legal resources online, usually at little or no cost. The biggest challenge, however, is knowing where to look and recognizing whether a particular online resource is credible or not. Hopefully, this book points you in the right “online” direction.
