ABSTRACT
Lucy sees herself as a highly conscientious student. In her political science course, she notices that there are many unfamiliar terms used by her instructor and in her textbook. To study for an upcoming weekly quiz, she has gone through her textbook chapter and class notes for the first week, copying each term and its definition word-for-word on a yellow sheet. She figures that the act of copying over the definitions will reinforce them in her mind. This is a tedious process but Lucy is sure it will pay off when she takes the weekly quiz.
