ABSTRACT
Carrie is sitting in the first row of her statistics class, waiting for class to begin, with her notebook wide open and her pencil clenched in her hand. As soon as the instructor starts talking, she perks up and tries to write down every word that he says. Sometimes she may miss a few, but she knows it is important to write down as many of his words as possible. The same goes for his writing on the board. Carrie tries to make sure that everything on the board gets copied into her notebook.
