ABSTRACT

One of the key events in adolescence is the emergence of sexuality as well as forming one’s sexual identity. This may be much more complex than articulating if one is gay or straight. The very first sexual awakening in adolescence is a life-shattering event, and it is not uncommon that one experiences it as a trauma in a subjective sense. Besides, sexual attraction is not only an expression of love, but also of darker feelings such as a wish to dominate, an expression of hatred, and sometimes, like in this story, of envy. Through a play with lightness and darkness, a narrative unfolds that asks questions about the complexities of female friendship and the threat and excitement of one’s first encounter with desire.
