ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the social relations between agents in the process of pre-sale building and sales arrangements. It discusses a brief description of the process of development of building projects utilizing the pre-sale system, showing how agents are inter-related through the circulation of capital and commodities. The chapter explains how the promoter benefits through using pre-sale financial and sales arrangements and shows why the promoters in Taiwan favour pre-sale agreements. The promoters using presale arrangements have definite advantages in their relations with the other agents involved that is, house buyers, banks. The chapter also focuses on the promoter and analyzes why house buyers and financial institutions also support the pre-sale system. It describes the process of pre-sale in housing provision and at the same time shows how social relations are formed by the promoters linking them with other agents in the process of production.
