The action team can be utilized as a sounding board for the individuals providing direct education services. Once an action team is in place and has met all identified goals, the next step is long-term sustainability. The facilitator of this team should be either the education staff (ES) or an agreed upon action team member. Consider having the ES send out regular education update emails concerning any new information or need to the action team members. Establish guidelines around staff turnover and reappointing an action team contact if a member leaves their respective agency. By committing to the action team, the team also commits to continue regular cross-agency training. Phase 2 covered all the aspects of establishing and sustaining cross-agency training for agencies and schools. By meeting quarterly, the team ensures that information is regularly disseminated, cases are staffed, and contacts are regularly updated without a large lapse in time between updates.
