ABSTRACT

Prime Minister of Fiji, Frank Bainimarama, as president of COP23, opened the Climate Change meetings in Bonn on November 6. 2017. The point that Prime Minister and President Bainimarama is making is that the entire world –all countries and all people everywhere– must work together, as equals, to slow the planet from overheating, to adopt forms of renewable energy, to respond to emergencies, and to share resources. The purpose of the Green Climate Fund is for rich countries to assist poorer countries acquire renewable energy. Wealth inequality is more extreme and greater than in other developed countries. Wealthy people are more often than not indifferent to the conditions. And, the more inequality there is in a society, the more distant the rich put themselves from all the rest. All over the world, vast numbers of people are suffering, bewildered by the forces ranged against them.
