ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the Circulation module, and lays out mirror the main and sub-menus of the module. Each of the sub-menus and functions are discussed in the order they appear. Prior to installation Dynix libraries have to spend a considerable time making decisions as to codes and types which govern how circulation performs in their library. The chapter also discusses the functions available from the sub-menu, or from any menu, by entering the appropriate code. Specific copies can also be reserved, usually for administration purposes. The date of cancellation of the reservation, the pick up point and the method of notification of availability (phone as opposed to mail) can be changed from within this fünction. The system generates also some automatic blocks on a borrowers record e.g. overdue items, reservation awaiting pick-up, and monies owed.
