ABSTRACT
The Official Bulletin of the Lombardian Regional Government (Serial 19, 10.5.89), a document authorised by the President of that Government, sets out in great detail the process and nature of training for staff who wish to become support workers with people with learning disabilities. It is stressed at this point that the workers in question are direct care workers, working in both residential and day care settings, and are not the equivalent of the British Social Worker or Care Manager.
