ABSTRACT
The autobiographies which follow were recorded in Balitang, a village in the Bitu region, which lies a little north o f the centre o f Ifugao Subprovince. This subprovince is at about the centre o f the northern third o f Luzon, the largest and northernmost island o f the Philippine Archipelago.
