ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the theory of ‘just sustainabilities’ (JS), while reviewing some seminal literature both past and current including Environmental Justice (EJ). This chapter explores the concept of justice, how the author became attracted to social justice work and questions what such work can and does look and feel like in practice. This chapter also shows how theories can shape praxis, while reaffirming that praxis is ever in the moment and therefore remains unstable and variable and can also shape theory.
