ABSTRACT

This chapter theorizes the overlapping lenses of just sustainabilities (JS) and intersectionality and argues that together they provide a means of engaging in reflective analysis to help guide daily practice in being ‘just’, as in being able to critically address racism, sexism, and classism, as well as other inequalities. Additionally, this chapter offers several case studies to illustrate how the theoretical merging of just sustainability and intersectionality can lead to innovative social praxis in relation to social justice work, including in relation to the local and/or global food systems.
