ABSTRACT

This final chapter draws conclusions on the reinterpretation of the boundaries of equality and employment law advanced in the book and presents recommendations for the future development of these laws to accommodate those engaged in ART treatments. Several issues are identified as key considerations that must be acknowledged in doing so, namely recognising alternative routes to parenthood, recognising the social value of procreation, overcoming barriers and adopting an intersectional analysis. The recommendations reinforce that only small, but significant, changes are necessary to accommodate these experiences within the current frameworks. Thus, reinforcing that change is not only conceptually possible but also achievable in practice.
