ABSTRACT

A manager is called on to manage not just the staff of the organization but also vital organizational resources, such as workloads, time, funds, equipment, and facilities. While the actual staffing levels within an organization can be difficult to change, deciding what tasks the existing employees are assigned within the organization is a managerial responsibility. After people and money, time is the next most precious resource a manager has to work with. Network analysis was the next graphic time-management approach to be developed. The amount of time in which an event can occur without producing a delay for subsequent events is its float time. Fines and forfeitures are funding sources readily available to criminal justice agencies. Surplus properties are assets of the organization that no longer are needed for current or anticipated organizational operations. Salvage value is the price that can be anticipated when an organizational asset is disposed of at the end of its useful life.
