ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on a combination of tools and processes to answer to the call of business leaders for simple answers to the complex challenges of identifying long-term business opportunities derived from the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Tools that focus on generating new business are explicitly those that take a more expansive view on the role of business, and see opportunities far beyond current markets and the current operating logic of a firm. The SDGXCHANGE strategy tool is a combination of tools and processes enabling organizations to embed the SDGs by embracing this extended business perspective and focusing on working on effective solutions in a co-creative approach with relevant stakeholders. Dialogic organizational development practitioners have built methods and tools around the idea that an organization is a place where any action results from self-organizing as a result of the prevailing conversations.
