ABSTRACT
This chapter demonstrates the fundamental role of social media in facilitating the lurch towards mainstream fascism, by an examination of three major alt-right organs of public pedagogy, first a Reddit known as The_Donald Trump, aimed at various constituencies of men and boys who support Trump and also share a fascination for the internet as a means to spread offense and hatred. It considers the National Policy Institute, aimed squarely at the male academic community and seeking policy initiatives for fascist power. The chapter looks at the official alt-right website, targeting male academics and other well-educated men and promoting neo-Nazism. Anti-globalists believe in conspiracy theories, particularly that anyone who opposes Trump's agenda must disagree with his premise that America's interests come first, and is therefore part of some sort of global conspiracy to overthrow American power. The chapter discusses that three influential alt-right internet sites used by the alt-right to spread a public pedagogy for fascism.
