ABSTRACT
This chapter covers state law that allows recovery of damages in products liability cases under either a negligence theory or a strict liability theory. It covers federal regulation of food safety under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act (FFDCA), including amendments made by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). It also covers the Federal Meat Inspection Act (FMIA), the Poultry Products Inspection Act (PPIA), the Egg Products Inspection Act, HACCP, and GAPs.
